Winter In Michigan

This morning the sun was shining through the windows so I thought I'd head out for a walk by the pond and take some long, overdue pictures. My camera hasn't been used much lately, except for taking it to class on Fridays. I've missed it, the click of the camera as it captures a moment and seeing a story unfold through pictures.

Sunshine is rare during the winter months in Michigan. When it comes, it's a must to go out and enjoy. Our winter has been filled with many snowy, gray days and I'm longing for the first sign of spring. During my walk with my mom, we saw a muskrat dipping his little mouth in the pond.

As I walk by the pond, I'm reminded of warmer days when I enjoyed watching the ducks in the rippling water, flowers and trees in bloom, and green grass to have a picnic on. The pond may be frozen now, but I'm thankful that spring will soon be here. Once again, the ducks will return and everything will be in bloom. I love living in a four-season state. It makes me appreciate each new season's arrival.

For now while the temperature is still frigid, I'm thankful for a warm, cozy house to come home to. Blankets, tea, and a good book or magazine are always waiting to enjoy.

  1. Beautiful pictures, Hannah! :) Here in North Carolina, we usually skip spring and head straight into summer weather! ;)
