I'm Back

Sorry I haven't written in 2 months. I've been busy with school, some travel to visit my brother at college , and helping my family. I am looking forward to the Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

I am still learning to sew. I get to spend 2 hours a week sewing with friends. We made a placemat, and pajama pants recently. I will post a picture soon. We are making a skirt next. I have to get my fabric this week. Its fun picking out fabric. The possibilities are endless.

Until next time ...

Homeschool Choir

Today I went to a meeting for choir. Next week we will begin practicing for a Christmas concert. This summer really went fast. It is hard to believe next week I will already be singing Christmas music. I am sure it will be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends.

Visiting my brother

Today my family went up to Grand Rapids to visit my brother Josh at college. It was so great to see him. It has been almost 2 weeks since I saw him last. I missed him so much.

He was busy for part of the day with his friends so we went to Grand Haven on Lake Michigan. It is so beautiful there. We usually go there at least once a year. Its fun to walk the pier and go to the lighthouse. There are some fun shops to look in by the marina. I got a new cozy sweatshirt .

My brother went back to his dorm . I am glad to see him so happy and enjoying himself, making lots of new friends, and being in such a good Christian environment. It is hard on me though. It is like saying goodbye all over again. I am thankful for the time we got to spend with him today. Hopefully, we get to spend a little time with him tomorrow. He has homework later in the day and we need to get home.

Jonas Brothers World Tour

My mom and I went to the Jonas Brothers concert on July 26th. We had such good seats. It was so much fun. Honor Society opened up for them, then the Wonder Girls " from Korea" , and Jordin Sparks. They were all really good. The Jonas Brothers are so talented. They write their own music, are excellent performers, Joe does a lot of amazing things on stage. They even had a built in trampoline on one of the stages. I really like that they bring instruments such as violin , sax, trumpet, and played in such a cool way.

One of the things I really like about them is that they write good music, you don't have to worry about bad lyrics, family is very important to them, most of all they are Christian's that love the Lord and believe in purity .

Dog Sitting

This week I am watching my cousins' dog Sadie. She is a Catonpoo. Catons are part of the Bichon family. She is part caton and part poodle. I got her yesterday and I will have her till next Sunday.

She is so adorable . Sadie usually has a little more hair on her but she recently got a short haircut. I am having lots of fun with her. I took her to the park yesterday. She chased some baby ducks into the pond. It's going to be hard giving her back after 9 days of being together.

Sarah's house

Wednesday I went to my friend Sarah's house . We had fun, riding the golf cart, going in the hot tub, swinging on the swing, and playing with her new dog. We didn't go in the pool cause it was a cool day and it looked like it was going to rain.
Thanks Sarah for a fun day!

Fun at the waterpark

Today I went to a water park . It was a lot of fun. From left: me, grandma, Aunt Shelley with Emma, Aunt Stacy with Saige, with Luke and Levi in the front. My cousin Landon isn't in the picture and my mom was there too but she took the picture.

Me going down the waterslide.

My cousin Levi and I going on another slide.

We had a good day. The weather wasn't that warm but it was still fun. Tomorrow we may have a record for the lowest temperature . I think it's only supposed to be 63 degrees I think. Today was mid 70's how crazy is this? But I am thankful it's not super hot.

Art in the Park

Today my mom and I went to Art in the Park. It is a tradition. Every year we go and there are artists that bring all their work. We enjoy walking around and looking at all of the different things. I always look forward to the doll clothing made for American Girl dolls. It is a lot cheaper than the AG store. Their clothes can be found at weeline.com.
I bought 3 outfits and 3 pairs of shoes. The crocs for the dolls are so cute. Here are a few pictures:

Unfortunately, my camera battery ran out so I couldn't get anymore pictures. There was a painted wall hanging that I saw that I would like to make for my room. They were very expensive but I think I can make it for much less. I am going to give it a try. I will post a picture when It's done.

Many years we go with friends and family to the art show. That is always fun but I really look forward to spending some time with just my mom and I. We always enjoy going back to are favorite artists to see their craft and what new ideas they've come up with. My mom likes pottery so we always see our favorites. I enjoy looking at the jewlery, art work for my room, handmade purses, we always have to get the freshly roasted cinnamon almonds . It is tradition . The photography, music, and homemade soaps are also fun. This year Kashi had stations set up where we had free cereal, bars, and snacks to try as well as cooking demonstrations and yoga . We got free Kashi bags and treats to take home. It is very tasty, organic, and good for you. I did get a snow cone that was so HUGE it was overflowing, messy, but oh so nice on a hot day.

Sewing 101

Yesterday I took a sewing 101 class at Joann Fabrics with friends from church. We made a pillowcase. They all turned out nice. It was so easy to make. I was happy with the way mine came out. I am going to make another one so I can have a set for my room. I have decided to make bedding for my american girl doll trundle bed. It will be so fun to match with the pillows in my room. I will post the pictures when I make it. Hopefully I can make it next week. I have a quilting class tomorrow to finish a tote bag we are sewing. I am really enjoying sewing. I even repaired a couple pairs of shorts for my brother today on the machine.

Good Morning USA Parade

This morning my family and my aunt went to the Good Morning USA parade in our town. It is the earliest parade in the country. It is at 7:30 am. We got there at 6:30 am and got our spot then headed to Panera for bagels and coffee/o.j. It was so much fun. We are heading to an old fashioned picnic at the park soon. Here are some pictures from the parade.
